Transformation: “Nothing is as constant as change” - Heraklit's statement is more true than ever in times of digital transformation and disruption. At its core, digitization is about networking. The "Internet of Things (IoT)" on the one hand and the communicative networking of all people on the other hand lead to permanent, fundamental changes in the entire society. Where there used to be well-defined and delimitable industries and business models, today we must think in an integrated and holistic way. Platform strategies permanently change the market and competition. The biggest change due to digitization, however, is on the consumer side. Due to the almost all-encompassing and permanent availability of information, uninformed end users became informed and discerning prosumers. In this respect, digitization is more than just new technology. Rather, it results in the requirement or necessity to constantly adapt and develop.
